BECOME a member

We welcome medical women from all specialties and backgrounds and in any stage of their medical career. Whether you are looking for support or willing to provide it, with SSWIM you can positively help us shape the future of healthcare in South Sudan!

SSWIM membership is open to women who are already pharmacists or dentists or medical doctors as well as those who are undertaking undergraduate studies in any of the three courses mentioned above. Membership is by registration and annual subscription. All membership applications are approved by the Board of Directors (BoD).

Member's Responsibilities

Observe, uphold, promote and defend the principles enshrined in the constitution of SSWIM

Carry out with due diligence any of the decisions, directives and duties assigned to them by the organization

Observe a code of conduct that is established by the general membership

Participate fully in activities of the organization when called upon

Attend all meetings of the organization accordingly

MEMBERSHIP cATEGORIES

All SSWIM members whether in the executive council or in the Board of Trustees are first and foremost regular members. Regular membership categories are described in more detail below.

Undergraduate membership

Women pursuing undergraduate degrees in medicine or pharmacy or dentistry.

Graduate membership

Medical women who hold graduate degrees in medicine, pharmacy or dentistry.

Post-graduate membership

Medical women who hold postgraduate degrees.

Associate membership

This membership is open to male medical doctors or any South Sudanese men and women, who wish to be affiliated to SSWIM in pursuit of its mission and vision.

Honorary membership

These are persons or entities that are awarded membership based on their distinct contributions to health care in South Sudan. They do not pay subscription fees and are nominated by SSWIM Board of Trustees.
